Stan Wawrinka has won the 2016 US open after beating Novak Djokovic in the final to win his very first US Open and third grand slam overall. Djokovic [7-6] [4-6] [5-7] [3-6] Wawrinka.
Novak Djokovic started stronger winning the opening set by 7-6 but Wawrinka showed his determination as he frustrate the world no.1 and broke him down winning three back to back sets winning his very first US Open title.
Earlier on the Saturday night, Angelique Kerber won the US Open women singles final beating Karolína Plíšková. It was a superb last grand slam of the year and we had our two new winners both in men and women singles finals.
US Open 2016 Tennis championship has reached its climax as we go into the last weekend where all the big finals will be taking place. Starting with the Saturday, 10 September when Angelique Kerber takes on Karolina Pliskova in the womens singles final while Novak Djokovic will be hoping to win his third US Open title on Sunday when he face Stan Wawrinka.

Last tennis grand slam of the year US Open 2016 will take place from Monday, 29 August to Sunday, 11 September 2016 in Flushing Meadows, New York. The qualifying rounds begin on 23rd august while the ladies and gents singles first round draw will be available after the third qualifying round on Saturday, 27th August 2016.
This will be the second year in ESPN’s new tv deal with US Open starting from 2015 after CBS long running (47 years) TV partnership with US open ended in 2014. ESPN will have full control over US open coverage in the United States while EuroSport will continue to broadcast live coverage of US open in many european countries including UK as well where SkySports also showing to its subscribers.

Novak Djokovic won the 2015 US Open mens singles title after beating Roger Federer in the final, this was his second US Open title and 10th overall grand slam. Federer looked in much better shape and form in the final compared to last couple of years but World no.1 is Djokovic is non total different level right now.
Federer was also hunting his 18th title and whole crowd wanted him to win as the cheered every point he won against Djokovic. But “Joker” had other ideas, this is the second consecutive Federer defeat in hands of Djokovic in grand slams finals this year.
Italian duo Flavia Pennetta and Roberta Vinci competed the women finals and it was the 33 year old Flavia Pennetta who was making her grand slam, winning the final with a scores of 7-6 6-2.
